Poor weather conditions can cause increased wear on roads and other surfaces, meaning potholes develop quicker. When carrying out a repair, a range of different approaches are used to ensure continued strain compatibility with the surrounding road structure.

Hot-mix asphalt is generally the preferred infill repair material owing to its relative ease of compaction and high durability. However cold lay offers a quicker repair, ideal for smaller excavations or potholes.
