Surface Dressing

Here at Yorkshire Road Surfacing we undertake surface dressing and tar & chipping projects of all sizes.

Tar and chip dressing offers a great way to repair and renew existing surfaces. And because it provides a more natural finish than asphalt, it is an excellent choice to blend in with natural surroundings.

We can use this method for jobs big and small — from driveways and paths through to large-scale public-use projects, such as highways. We also provide stone chips in a range of different colours and sizes to give you the look and feel you require.

For larger works, we use the latest Secmair state-of-the-art computer-controlled tar and chip feeders. This has a one-pass surface dressing system that allows the chips to be fed onto the hot tar binder within one second of its application. By minimising heat lost by the binder when surfacing, this greatly improves the bond between new stone chips and your existing surface.

This computer-controlled system uses Lookrax software to read the quality of the road surface before applying your new tar and chip surface. This means the system can apply the new surface as a patch, part width of the road or a full blanket width up to 3.1 metres wide.
